Be very careful when shaving around the kneecap, this is where most cuts occur.Don't put pressure on the razor,it's own weight will do the job.
When shaving for the first time it is helpful to trim the hair one your legs as short as possible with a hair clippers or beard trimmer if you have one. Also rinse the razor under running water very often as it clogs with hair fast. Go slow and take it easy. When it grows back it will not itch like beard hairs do.It will definitely not grow back to any extent in a week;it is going to be obvious that you shaved them so come up with a story.Maybe you are grossed out by the nasty looking hairy legs. ![]() Hi, what's your name? Hi Jodi - When I used to shave my arms and legs (I use an epilator now) I did it in the bath, using shower gel. You can use ordinary shave foam and an ordinary razor. Your razor will get blocked quite quickly, so frequent rinsing will be necessary.
Why stop halfway? Either do it, or don't - there's no fun in half-shaved legs Your hair will have started to grow again by next Wednesday, but not enough to convince anyone; that will probably take another week or two at least. It shouldn't irritate you as it grows (except where your legs rub together) but it will be scratchy to your girlfriend. Good luck and have fun Natalie (Call me Nat) the Tranny Granny The thantom phread killer striks again |

Well, this is kind of a big step in a way, but you will love how you feel. And I mean it's a big step especially if your SO doesn't know and you're not sure how she'll react to it. And no, I personally can't think of anyway to explain it away, it's hard to claim you were shaving your face and your razor slipped resulting in your accidentally shaving all the hair off both calves. Of course Halloween is coming up, which is a tried and true excuse for all sorts of TG shenanigans. And body hair, legs included, takes much longer to grow back than facial hair, so you will be stubbly and probably have ingrown hairs for awhile as it grows back. As far as "doing it", I prefer shaving in the shower, but you can also do it right after. I really recommend the shower, since if this is your first time you will be doing a lot of rinsing off of your razor. If you have an electric razor with one of those pop-up trimmer thingies you may want to carefully use that to mow some of it down before the razor works begins. And for what it's worth, and this is just my own experience, don't try Nair or one of those cream epilators unless you know how your skin will react. It gives me horrible rash but lots of girls use it with no problem at all. Have fun, hon. Being smooth is addictive, so I hope your SO goes for it. Best of luck. Oh, and keep one of those styptic pencils handy. Hugs...Joni Marie |

Once you've shaved your legs you will never want them hairy again.

Naturally the decision is yours. I personally don't like the sight of tons of hair (or any hair for that matter) on the body. That is an excuse you could make. The feeling is wonderful as has been mentioned.
If you do decide to shave, I recommend at first using a lubricating shave gel and a triple blade razor. I have found that the quads, at least for me, don't do any more than the trios, and the double blade razors usually require me to get a transfusion afterword. I have never tried a single blade but would think that you would have to go over and over the same area causing more irritation than normal. My barber, who uses a straight edge razor to shave around the ears and neck, uses an alcohol solution on the skin after he shaves these areas because it reduces the chance for infection. When we shave, we cause small minute cuts in the skin, especially with electric razors (which I use on the face due to very sensitive skin) and infection can occur. When I shave, I shave the whole body and use Irish Sprig with Aloe in the shower and I take my time, and when I am dry, I apply 91% alcohol over the shaved areas. Since I have been doing that, I have not had an infection and the little red bumps do not show. I have used the shaving gel years ago but found that it was very expensive after awhile and the shaves for some reason were not as close - probably due to the lubricant in the gel. Everybody is different but I would say that to have the hair grow back (and I'll bet after you shave you won't want it back) on your legs, it would take about 4-6 weeks or so to fully be back. Well, there you have it. Good luck. Ashleigh ASHLEIGH Finis Origine Pendet The End Depends Upon The Beginning |

I was really surprised about two things. First, it was much easier to shave my legs than I ever thought. I took Joni Marie's advice and used the trimmer on my electric razor to cut down the hair first. After that, the triple blade razor give me an incredibly close shave with very little effort. How I wish I could shave my beard this close! I just used some shaving cream in the shower, and I rubbed in some mousturizer when I got out. I nicked the back of one achilles tendon due to my own carelessness, and I missed a tiny spot on the back of one calf. Otherwise, a perfect result. The second thing I noticed is just how many bruises, scrapes, cuts, scars and blemishes there really are on my legs! Its like every tiny little scrape I've gotten since I was 4 years old all came back at once. They've all been completely invisible for decades because they've been covered in Yeti-like hair! Time to get out my favorite hose and stockings! Thanks to everyone for all the tips. I figure I can just wear socks at all times for the next few weeks. It's been getting really cold around here anyway. |

I shaved for the first time last year at Thanksgiving. It was back pretty much by Christmas. Four to six weeks is about right for regrowth to what would be considered normal. I then shaved constantly for about six months and loved it, but my wife is aware of the situ. I stopped in August for logistical reasons and haven't yet started back again but most likely will. I am not especially hairy so it is not as noticeable anyway. Sometimes people don't notice as much as we give them credit for. Take your time, you'll know what's best for your situ.

I like to use Nair. --- It removes hair COMPLETELY, and feels wonderful afterwards. But this is not for everyone. ---I use the Nair from my toe tips , - all the way up to my hips. ---It DOES feel great though.

Good for you, hon! Aren't nice smooth legs the greatest feeling? And I'm just like you, girl, when I first shaved I found scars I had forgotten I had, I scar easily anyway, so most of the new ones are from being in a hurry. And I also know the feeling of just saying the hell with it and going on ahead and doing something and dealing with any consequences later. Being TG is all about that, I think. I mean, I don't want to call what we do a compulsion, that sounds so, so...well, clinically certifiable if you know what I mean. But I know that feeling of just wanting to go a little further and a little further. Anyone else know what I'm talking about? You know you do.<g> Hugs...Joni Marie |

Most guys I know..(who are not cd) shave or nair their hair away..it is just not the modern thing anymore to have hair....just take a look at any movie..most of the male stars will be hair less..(really..just look next time)
If you want to save time and a bit of money..just have a friend run over you with the lawn mower....this also gives you the perfect excuse...(it was an accident honey) People laugh at me because I'm different.... I laugh at them because they're all the same... .........Hugs Lyn..... |
