Re: What song are you listening to right this moment? Ok I couldn't stand this band when they first appeared, I mean REALLY detested them.
However......although deffo a 'marmite' band, I have switched sides and now love them to bits. Bought this album on a whim almost because I didn't like it and it's on right now in the office, much too loud. Second link is not the album versh, I couldn't find one on yt. Re: What song are you listening to right this moment? Never was a Beatles fan (or their solo, post Beatles stuff for that matter), and i can say the same about Prince, but after seeing the guitar work on this one i was amazed.

I've seen and listened to stuff here and just gone shopping - having seen Anna posting the Noisettes above, eBay has more of my money and I've got something winging its way to me in't post. Thanks Anna, forgot I liked Noisettes.
 Anyway this is my present to you lovely lot for today - a bit of Nina. I just adore Nina, she sings her heart out with every word and isn't afraid to expose herself emotionally for the benefit of conveying the meaning in the song. I love the raw simplicity of the recordings and arrangements, often just Nina and a piano, all the required elements I think. When you listen to this song, particularly the opening lines, you can hear the acoustics of the room in the recording of her voice and I just love that, makes me feel like I'm there with her. I have the 'best of' collection from 2006 playing in the office now and it is a superb group of songs - goosebump material, all of it. I may be sneaking up on y'all with another track from this later, watch your backs girls!

Why? because it makes me happy. There's a message there for sure, but generally it's up beat. It's a beautiful day UH huh, oooooooH
